Percy Jackson and The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan

At his new school, Percy Jackson discovers that two of the cheerleaders are empousai, a dangerous kind of female demon that have one metal leg and one goat leg. One he manages to kill, but the other one lets the music room go up in flames, so Percy has to flee.
At camp Half-Blood, his friend, Annabeth, has been chosen to lead a quest through the legendary labyrinth, built by the inventor Daedalus. Enemy troops are trying to find Ariadne's string, the only way to navigate the labyrinth. All Percy and his friends have to do is to find  the string and come back to camp Half-Blood. But this quest turns out a lot more dangerous than Annabeth, Percy, Grover and Tyson think.
A dangerous adventure packed with pure action, nothing more...

Inheritance - by Christopher Paolini

This is the fourth and last book in the Eragon series. It took Christopher Paolini 12 years to write it, and it just came out in November 2011. It begins with a battle at some city. The Varden are protesting against the evil king Galbatorix's way of ruling. One night, the Varden leader Nasuada gets kidnapped by Galbatorix's servant, Murtagh, and his dragon Thorn.Nasuada gets taken to Uru'baen, the city where Galbatorix lives, and Galbatorix tortures her. Now Eragon has not only to kill Galbatorix, but he also has to save Nasuada. Luckily, the elves Blodhgarm, Arya and ten others agree to help. But the great dragon Shruikan makes numerous attempts to kill them, and so slows them considerably. After many captured cities, and many killings, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira finally reach the capital, Uru'baen. And the great battle commences...
